LW HF DX10, End Fed Non Resonant Long Wire Antenna 40m - 6m bands With an ATU.
The LW HF DX10 End fed long wire antenna using 1.0mm lite guage Wire for portability.
Also supports End fed Sloper, Inverted L or Vertical Configurations. They incorporate a 9:1 UNUN at the feed point enabling them to be fed directly with 50 Ohm coaxial cable.
I have also fitted a earthing tag and eyelet to the box there is no requirement to fit anything to this but a good Earthrod, or Counterpoise wire or ground radial wires improves antenna performance greatly as the earth connection is really the other half of the antenna.
The 9:1 UNUN also removes static noise and provides a DC path to earth. All are able to handle up to 400W RF (full UK limit).
LW HF DX10 is 10m in length, This will work on all bands from 40m - 6m via an ATU. Big
performance from a small foot print.
These antennas give excellent results where space is at a premium.
However, please note that due to the varying impedance found on any long wire antenna,
the built in ATU in your average transceiver will not be able to cope with all bands.
For full band coverage you will need an external ATU or possible some form of capacitive loading system. This can be a simple L or T match, With the use of a wide tuning ratio external ATU, The LW HF DX10 has been able to load up on the 80m band an Earth connection is required for this.
The nature of design of a long wire antenna can sometimes suffer from having stray RF or Voltages on the coax feeder cable causing RFI in the radio shack if you experience this it can be solved by fitting a Line isolator 1:1 common mode choke to your coax feeder cable.
